Whilst the Conserving Coniston & Crake project was in its development phase the Core Group of the CCCP took a step back, letting a temporary steering group lead on the project. Now that the HLF funded Conserving Coniston & Crake project is up and running the Core Group has reconvened. The first meeting (for some time) took place at the end of October and was really well attended by volunteers, supporters and representatives of key partners and local agencies. They were treated to an update on the project by the Project Officer and the Communities & Engagement Officer. Ideas for conservation projects were discussed & the members were given a flavour of what the project hopes to offer – community engagement, improved riparian habitats, tackling issues affecting the water quality in the catchment.
