Community activities

Engaging with the local community is extremely important to Conserving Coniston & Crake. A number of activities are planned to raise awareness of the project and to get people involved!

We have worked with Wingspan Consulting Ltd to research and develop our audiences and project activities. Just some of these ideas are listed below, which may change as the project develops.

  • Workshops for local schools and outdoor education centres
  • Community events
  • Initiating and supporting a Community Arts Activity to record project progress, design promotional and project materials, create interpretation boards for a number of sites, and engage the wider artistic community.
  • Easter and summer holiday activities for families
  • Working with the community to reduce phosphate pollution
  • Training volunteers to help with conservation work
  • Regular practical conservation task days

If you would like to be involved in our community activities, please have a look at our Events page to see what’s coming up, or get in touch with us to find out more.
